The Shanghai Art Fair by GAA wins prestigious Golden Lighthouse Award from the Government of China

GAA receives Golden Lighthouse Award for outstanding performances Shanghai International Art Fair by the Minister of Culture (China).

Last November 2019 the GAA (Global Art Agency) organised the first Shanghai International Art Fair part of the Yangtze River Delta international Cultural industries Expo at the National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai (NECC). The largest exhibition complex of China, making it one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai. The building was co-built by Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai Municipal Government.

The Yangtze River Delta International Industries Expo (iCiE) established to celebrate the development of the region’s cultural industries. And is China’s largest Cluster for international cultural trade. Hosted by the Governments of Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province. The visitors numbers were fabulous with 80,000 people that visited the show, including 15,000 professional buyers.

The GAA pleasantly surprised by winning the prestigious Golden Lighthouse Award in Shanghai, China.

On the last day of the 4-day show the SIAF organisation received a surprise visit from Mr Wang Yayuan, Vice Minister of Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party and Mr Xu Runhe, Chief Director of CPIT Exhibition Co., Ltd. Receiving the Global Lighthouse Award as a trophy for outstanding performances to help increasing art and culture on an international level and bring it to the Chinese collectors.

“This has been the best Art Fair so far! Nearly all exhibitors sold out completely or at least sold several works. One gallery has bought a huge amount of several artists to sell here in China. I am amazed by the Chinese art collectors interest in buying international works from artists that they are not familiar with. But that was the whole idea for our organisations invitation to setup the Shanghai International Art Fair - I understand now the enthusiasm!” - Jessie from ALD

The Art Fair will take place again for its third edition on 16-19 November 2023 at the same venue at NECC. Exhibitors can submit online.

The selection is based on the interest of the Chinese art collectorsbuyers and investors. Our Curators are part of the Chinese Government for Culture. Inviting Artists and Galleries to submit. The art fair has a dedicated Gallery area. We also offer shipping, setting-up, and Chinese speaking representative services.
